Regional Renewable Dialogue: Hunter and Illawarra

The Hunter and Illawarra, two of Australia’s most iconic coal regions, have a long history of power generation. Now, we are navigating the renewable energy transition to become leaders in clean energy generation.

Join the Regional Renewable Dialogue between the Hunter and Illawarra to discuss how the renewable energy transition is playing out in our regions, and the role Local Energy Hubs could play in supporting our communities to get the most out of the big shift to renewable energy!

Hosted by Jo Lynch, Hunter Community Organiser with RE-Alliance and Anna Mackiewicz, NSW Organiser with Yes2Renewables, we'll hear from local leaders, Darryl Best from the Illawarra and Justin Page from the Hunter about the challenges and opportunities presented by the renewable energy rollout, as well as explore what a Local Energy Hub could offer to each region.

What to Expect:

  • Regional Perspectives: Hear from local leaders and community advocates as they share insights into the experiences and aspirations of their communities.
  • Interactive Dialogue: Engage in small group discussions to reflect on the renewable energy rollout in your region, and share ideas on how a Local Energy Hub could support the transition.
  • Key Campaign Updates: Learn about the latest developments in the Local Energy Hubs campaign, including the recent delegation to Parliament and Ministerial meetings from Senior Campaigns Manager at RE-Alliance, Justin Whelan.

Let's come together to strengthen our collective voice and consider next steps for community action for a clean energy future – one that benefits the Hunter, Illawarra, and beyond.

RSVP to receive the Zoom link, and we look forward to the dialogue!
